EVO Aqua Cool
Highly transparent film thanks to rapid water cooling
EVO Aqua Cool is a Reifenhäuser blown film line with water cooling, which strongly suppresses or completely prevents crystallization of the melt. The result is a highly transparent, glossy film with exceptional puncture and tear propagation resistance and excellent thermoformability – for food and medical applications.
Benefits
- High transparency and gloss
- Exceptional puncture and tear propagation resistance
- Excellent thermoformability
- Automatic bubble profile control and water-vacuum calibration for a stable process
- Thinner layers and raw material savings
- Option to use lower-cost raw materials (homopolymers instead of copolymers)
- Industrial packaging
- Food packaging
- Blood bags
- Infusion bags
- Dialysis bags
- Lidding films (PE/PP with EVOH)
- Soft trays (PE and EVOH)

Technical data
| Lay-flat width | 200–1,600 mm |
|---|---|
| Number of layers | 1–12 |
| Die diameter | 180–600 mm |
| Extruder diameter | 30–120 mm |
Description
Unlike conventional lines, the extrusion direction is reversed – vertically from top to bottom. The film tube is inflated to the required diameter and rapidly cooled by water flowing down the bubble; this creates the specific optical and mechanical properties of the film. The water is then removed from the film by vacuum.
The optional Ultra Flat or Ultra Stretch modules make it possible to optimize stiffness, barrier function or flatness in downstream processing without loss of transparency and formability. Thanks to the high performance properties of the individual layers, the layers can be designed thinner and lower-cost raw materials can be used (e.g. homopolymers instead of more expensive copolymers).
