Reicofil RF5 XHL
Extra High Loft: soft, drapeable nonwovens for diapers
Reicofil RF5 XHL is a technology for producing bulky Extra High Loft nonwovens that combine exceptional softness with high drape. It is intended particularly for suppliers of nonwovens for baby nappies and can be installed in new lines or retrofitted to existing Reicofil lines.
Benefits
- 30% greater thickness than spunbond without crimped fibres
- Better drape and hand than through-air bonded nonwovens
- Abrasion resistance
- Fibre diameter of almost 1 denier in XHL mode – lower raw material consumption
- PP mono-material suitable for inline recycling
- Bonding without hot air – energy savings
- Carbon footprint up to 30% lower than carded through-air bonded nonwovens
- Baby diapers
- Hygiene nonwovens

Description
XHL is based on the proven Reicofil Bico spunbond process, which combines two polypropylene raw materials in a single fibre. A special formulation processed as an eccentric core–sheath fibre ensures optimum crimp with a reduced fibre diameter.
Compared with conventional spunbond fabrics without crimped fibres, XHL allows 30% greater material thickness and better softness parameters (drape, hand feel) than through-air bonding processes. Bonding without hot air saves energy, and the pure polypropylene composition enables inline recycling.
