Cast MDO-PP and MDO-PE films for recyclable mono-material packaging
EVEREX Cast MDO lines are cast film lines with machine direction orientation (MDO) for producing MDO-PP and MDO-PE films. They make it possible to produce fully recyclable mono-material packaging with or without a barrier as a replacement for PET/PO laminates, e.g. for stand-up pouches.

Description
In the EU, stand-up pouches made from PET and polyolefin laminates are to be replaced by recyclable packaging from 2030. Cast MDO technology makes it possible to produce mono-material structures from MDO-PE or MDO-PP – a print layer and a sealing layer, optionally with an EVOH barrier.
The lines automate key process steps: PAM controls the die and the coextrusion feedblock fully automatically, and PAM 2.0 performs job changes without operator intervention from the coextrusion feedblock to the winder while maintaining an exact final film width.
The combination of MDO with edge encapsulation enables the production of PP, PE and barrier films without edge losses, with direct inline return of the edge trim and barrier material savings of up to 3%. The Coextrusion Adapter PRO optimizes the layer distribution during operation for consistent MOPE and MOPP quality.
