Reifenhäuser flat slot dies are manufactured individually for specific raw materials and production parameters. They cover cast film, thermoforming sheet, solid and foamed sheet, tapes, biaxially oriented films and extrusion coating.

Description

All flow channels are designed using 3D simulation and software-based polymer flow calculation and machined on 5-axis machines; final polishing and edge finishing are done by hand. Every die is a unique product.

For changing settings during operation, the Rapid Flex system (second lower lip with central adjustment, opening range ±2.5 mm) and the Rapid Slide system (parallel sliding lip with central adjustment, opening range 0–10 mm) are available. Interchangeable lip inserts allow flexible changes of materials, geometries and coatings.

Optional PAM automation controls dies and coextrusion feedblocks fully automatically using electric actuators.

  • Sheet dies – solid and foamed sheet, 5-part body, removable and/or sliding lower lip, 45°, 65° or 90° choker bar, lip temperature control
  • Tape dies – two-part body, flex lip (2.5 mm range), rotatable exchangeable lip, smooth / optionally grooved
  • Biaxial film dies – 1–5 channels, automatic flex lip control, for BOPP, BOPET, BOPA
  • Coating dies – automatic flex lip control (1.2 mm range), split design for quick cleaning, combined external and internal width adjustment, independently adjustable deckles for less edge trim
