Coextrusion feedblocks

Description

Every deviation from the ideal layer thickness increases production costs. Reifenhäuser coextrusion feedblocks allow precise control of raw material consumption thanks to minimal tolerances of the individual layers.

Layer profiles and thicknesses can be changed during production – using individual profilers or central adjustment. The optimum setting is fully reproducible, and the position of the profilers is shown by indexing pins.

Using interchangeable inserts, expensive raw materials (e.g. EVOH) can be displaced from the film edges and replaced with a lower-cost material (edge encapsulation). The edge trim is thus fully recyclable and can be returned directly via a refeeding extruder.

The range includes FIX, FLEX and PRO versions; the PRO feedblock can be supplemented with fully automatic PAM control.

• Coextrusion Adapter FIX – fixed flow insert geometry, 2–5 layers, for multilayer products from similar raw materials; optional valve block for shutting off skin layers (structure A-B-A to A-B, B, B-A)
• Coextrusion Adapter FLEX – easily adjustable profilers, 2–5 layers, fast correction of the flow geometry of all layers, streamlined channels also suitable for sensitive polymers, layer structure changed via an integrated channel block
• Coextrusion Adapter PRO – patented segmented adjustable profilers, 3–11 layers (more on request), for rheologically demanding barrier structures, each layer adjustable without stopping the line
• PRO with internal edge encapsulation of one layer – no need for an additional extruder and edge encapsulation equipment on the flat die
• PAM – fully automatic, contactless profiler adjustment during operation with recipe memory and digital logging of settings
