The duplex cartridge filter provides additional process water filtration in underwater pelletizing systems where downtime must be minimized, or when processing highly filled products with fine dust that the standard screen cannot capture.

Description
The filter is located downstream of the process water pump in the tempered water system and captures fine particles that have passed through the standard filter screen. It is generally used on lines with flow rates from 60 m³/h (250 gpm).
The system consists of two cylindrical stainless steel housings, each containing a strainer basket with a 100–200 µm filter bag, plus valves, piping and electrical controls. One housing is always in operation while the other is being prepared or is on standby. The changeover can be signalled by an alarm for manual switching or, in most cases, carried out fully automatically.
