Description
D-2 tool steel: the industry standard. The main alloying element is 12% chromium, which gives the blade good toughness and corrosion resistance.
M-2 tool steel: a high-speed steel. Thanks to its high molybdenum content, it resists degradation at high temperatures. Under most conditions it lasts 1.5 times longer than D-2.
PM (powder metallurgy): the choice for producers who want maximum performance. A vanadium content of 9% provides a significant advantage in both wear resistance and toughness. Depending on conditions, it lasts 3 to 5 times longer than D-2.
440C stainless steel: contains 18% chromium and is one of the stainless tool steels. It is the best choice for blades operating in highly corrosive environments and can be hardened to 54–56 HRC.
