Sartorius Quintix analytical balance

Description

It belongs to the group of touch-operated balances. The greatest strength of the Quintix series is easy operation via a colour touch display. Weighing applications are clearly shown as icons, as is now usual with "smart devices". Another plus of this series is excellent data communication. Every Quintix balance is equipped with a mini USB data output with Plug & Play technology, which allows weighing results and calibration records to be transferred directly to the most widely used Microsoft Office programs (MS Word and MS Excel) without installing any additional special software on your PC for communication between the balance and the PC. Unlike the Secura series, the Quintix series is levelled using a conventional analogue spirit level, and the levelling status is not monitored by optoelectronic sensors. The Quintix series is not equipped with the APC (Advanced Pharma Compliance) package. These are the two main differences between the similarly designed Secura and Quintix series.

isoCAL automatic calibration

The isoCAL automatic calibration function provides motorized calibration and adjustment with an internal calibration weight, even without user intervention, based on a set time interval or when the ambient temperature changes. The isoCAL function thus ensures, above all, long-term repeatability of results. isoCAL calibration is started in the following cases:

a) The user can start calibration manually

b) Every Secura and Quintix balance automatically starts internal calibration once a set time interval has elapsed; the interval varies according to the specific balance type (4 – 24 hours). The user therefore cannot forget to calibrate the balance. The balance always finds "its moment" when no weighing is in progress and starts internal calibration by itself. If it detects a deviation during calibration, it performs an adjustment, i.e. it corrects the deviation back to zero.

c) It has been shown that a change in ambient temperature can adversely affect weighing results. Opening a window near the balance or switching on air conditioning in the summer months can impair the accuracy or repeatability of results. To prevent this, some Sartorius balance series (e.g. Quintix, Secura, Cubis) are equipped with a temperature sensor that monitors sharp fluctuations in ambient temperature. When the temperature changes by 1.5 – 4 Kelvin (depending on the settings of the specific model), the balance automatically activates internal calibration and, if it finds a deviation, corrects it back to zero. If weighing is in progress, the balance shows the user a request on the display to start internal calibration, which the user can either confirm or postpone. Secura and Cubis balances store all calibration records in internal memory, so the user can retrieve them by date at any time and thus prove the condition of the balance at the time the weighing results were obtained. Quintix balances display only the last calibration record and have no internal memory for data storage.
