The MDA 420 is a transducer with an accuracy of ±0.25% of full scale, ideal for applications requiring high accuracy, easy installation, repeatability and reliability. These transducers provide an industry-standard 3.33 mV/V output signal designed to work with most pressure indicators and controllers. MDA 420 series transducers are fitted with a six-pin Bendix connector, and configurations with thermocouples or RTDs for melt temperature measurement are optionally available (TDA models). The transducers have a 1/2-20" UNF thread for installation in standard mounting holes and can be supplied with a range of other connectors and connections.

Melt pressure transducers - Rigid stem

Rigid-stem pressure transducers are designed for easy installation directly into the mounting hole on production lines. This simple, robust design is ideal for applications in which the transducer is not exposed to direct radiant heat from the line and the electronics are not subjected to extreme temperatures. Please note that installing these transducers vertically above the line (in the 12 o'clock position) is not recommended, as radiant heat can adversely affect the service life of the transducer electronics. For such applications we recommend our flexible capillary transducers, which allow the electronics to be moved away from the heat source, thereby extending the service life of the transducer.

The main advantages of rigid-stem transducers are their high resistance to shock and vibration, which is key to withstanding mechanical stress and extending service life while reducing maintenance requirements. In addition, these transducers stand out for their high measuring accuracy, ensured by high-quality materials and advanced measuring technology, which is essential for efficient and precise control of production processes.

Description of options

GC6 - Guardian relay, activated when 60% of the transducer's full scale is reached. This function alerts the system that a safety limit has been exceeded. In this way, a standard transducer becomes a safety device that communicates with the machine control system, thereby increasing overall operational safety.
