A retractable thermocouple (GRMT) is used to measure temperature inside a polymer melt stream at different sensing depths. The temperature sensing position can be varied from the barrel wall to the centre of the barrel under standard flow and pressure conditions without removing the sensor from the adapter. The graduated design of the temperature sensor sheath allows the user to select and monitor the depth at which the sensor is currently located.

GRMT series melt temperature sensor

The graduated retractable melt thermocouple (GRMT) is used to measure temperatures inside a polymer melt stream. The immersion depth in the hot melt stream can be varied from zero to the middle of the stream at maximum flow and pressure without having to remove the sensor from the adapter. Using the scales on the stem of the temperature sensor, the user can select and monitor the specific depth at which the sensor is located in the melt stream.
