Cleaning tool kit M18x1.5 (order code 8BRD0028) – melt pressure sensor by Dynisco.
The cleaning tool kit was designed by Dynisco for removing plastic from the mounting holes of pressure and temperature transducers. Installing transducers in improperly cleaned or unsuitable holes is one of the main causes of damage. This kit can be used to clean a M18x1.5 hole. The kit includes a gauge plug, which is used to check whether the hole has been correctly machined and cleaned.

Recommended procedure

Step 1: Use the thread tap to clean the threaded section of the mounting hole. Turn the tool until you can feel that the mounting thread is completely clean. |

Step 2: Use the tool (rotary cutter) to thoroughly clean the seating and sealing area of the hole. Turn clockwise and, by combining pushing and turning the tool, try to remove polymer residue from the critical surfaces. Do not tilt the tool sideways. Withdraw the tool and clean off the polymer residue. Insert the tool again and continue turning. Repeat this operation until the hole is completely clean. |

Step 3: Apply Dykem blue to the surfaces of the gauge plug. Insert the gauge into the hole and turn it until contact is made. Remove the tool and inspect it. The colour should be disturbed only on the 45° seating surface. If the blue is also disturbed in other areas, the mounting hole is not clean or has not been properly machined. Repeat the cleaning process or, if necessary, repair the thread using the mounting kit. |

Important: The cleaning tools must be used while the polymer is in a semi-solid state. Take care not to exceed a tightening torque of 11.3 Nm, so that the cutting edges of the tool are not damaged during cleaning. These cutting edges are made of hardened tool steel. If due care is taken, the tools will not wear. It is strongly recommended to apply high-pressure lubricants to the tools and threads, including sleeves and plugs, to prevent seizing. |
